Alone

...well at least I got chocolate ;)

I felt bad taking away the colours, so I uploaded the coloured version too. I personally like the colours more but for the mood I felt that I had to remove them.
I like both versions. Lovely shot of scilla, which I love photographing.

The little flower does pop on this version but I think I prefer it in colour
May 5th, 2014
Oooh, this one reminds me of chocolate. Hope that you enjoy it...is it dark? I do relish the alone time. Got a good book to read?
May 5th, 2014
@amandal It´s milk chocolate, dark would be better of course. I´m afraid I´m too tired to read, I think I make couple comments here and then I hit the bed (it´s 22.00 pm here)
May 5th, 2014
@susale Oh goodness, nighty night:).
May 5th, 2014
@amandal Thanks :)
May 5th, 2014
A wonderful capture
May 5th, 2014
This one has a more lonely feel to it than the coloured version. Beautiful too!
May 5th, 2014
Simply gorgeous!!
May 5th, 2014
Lovely shot
May 5th, 2014
I like this one best
May 5th, 2014
Fav. Just love this one, beautiful
May 5th, 2014
FAV! This version is amazing
May 6th, 2014
This is so beautiful too. I faved the colored one. But both are wonderful.
May 6th, 2014
Pretty too, but I prefer the colour.
May 6th, 2014
I don't know which I like better!! Gorgeous!
May 6th, 2014
I prefer this one. I would hang it on my wall! :)
May 6th, 2014
@tomtom Thank you Andrew for such great compliment :)
May 6th, 2014
@overalvandaan I think so too, the coloured one is, well a bit too colourful to be lonely for me. Thank you for your comment :)
May 6th, 2014
This one certainly creates a much stronger mood and really makes the flower pop...good processing done! In the colour version I felt that the composition is lacking: the flower needs to be placed in a more prominent spot and perhaps needs a closer zoom. In this version it does not really matter that much: the flower is strong enough on it's own!
May 6th, 2014
@ericdibosco Thank you Eric for your great comment, you are right, there was something that didn´t quite work for me in that coloured version and you have just pointed that out, it´s the composition indeed, it´s not the best but as you said, here the flower is somehow stronger so the attention is not drawn to that. I made this b&w too but somehow this sepia tone brought the flower more out, so I choce this one even though I really prefered the b&w for the mood.

Love it*)FAV*)

I love the sad feeling in this. wonderful shot with the soft focus. A fav from me.

thank you for your follow and comments. you have some amazing photos following right back ;-)
May 6th, 2014
FAV. Both this shot and the coloured one are very beautiful. I am not one who goes for monochrome shots but you did such a great job on this one. Hope your mood will improve.
May 6th, 2014
There is a sad lonely feel for sure, especially in this version. The grass is a bit too "defined", and gets a bit distracting.... Maybe you could lighten up the flower and darken down the rest of the picture ? Or do some lensbaby effect thingy ? Vignette ? I think the flower in the middle is a statement, make it stronger! :)
May 6th, 2014
@sangwann Thank you Dione, such a great compliment, wow! It´s really not the mood, it´s a state - I am alone, for now but that does not mean that I´m lonely, I´m not. I´m just alone....but as long as I got chocolate it´s all good :) I wish I had that chocolate egg you fooled us to believe you got for your wife ;)
May 6th, 2014
@janim Thank you Jani, all great suggestions, as your suggestions always are :) Totta, olis voinut käyttää vähän luovaa blurrausta tässä tai jopa sitä lensbaby effectii, se olis voinut vörkkii oikeen hyvinkin tässä. Mut mä luulen, et paras veto olis varmaan just toi valon lisäys tohon kukkaan ja taustan tummennus, mä oikeesti tykkään siitä ajatuksesta, se olis varmaan just sitä mitä mä tässä olisin hakenut, en oo taas vaan muistanut, et sellastakin voi tehä, tarttee ehottomasti testata, kiits :) !

I love both shots equally! This one has a more atmospheric, dramatic aurora to it! Really holds a strong emotion. A very lovely shot! x
May 6th, 2014
I love the processing it looks fantastic, well done.
May 6th, 2014
I love this even more but then I have a tendency to like dark tones (not sure what this says about me :-)). Beautiful!
May 6th, 2014
@roseolivia Thank you Rachel, I have a tendency to like both; colours and dark tones, bright & shiny and gloomy & dark -I´m afraid to even speculate what that says about me, lol :) Seriously, we all have our preferences and your work is definitely something I love.
May 6th, 2014
Love the tones and little flower...I swear I commented on this yesterday...fav!
May 6th, 2014
lovely sepia tones.
May 6th, 2014
@nanderson Don´t you just hate when that happens :D! Thank you my friend very much for the fav & comment!
May 6th, 2014
@blueberry1222 Thank you Krista for all of your comments, I really appreciate your visiting my album :)
May 6th, 2014
Stunning black and white with just the single flower. Striking photo.
May 6th, 2014
Totally agree with Jani's comment above. Maybe soften the grass a bit more - either way, love the tone and feeling of this isolated little one. Many thanks for the birthday wishes. Actually, birthday doesn't come until the 22nd but I always open my gift early. ;)
May 6th, 2014
@kass Thank you Kass, yes @janim usually is right when it comes to photography...apparently he´s not that good remembering the dates, well at least he got the month right ;-) Well then, I will congratulate you properly when the right day comes, unfortenately I´m not as talented as Jani so I can´t shoot you a flower in your style. So you missed the Taurus sun sign for two days then, I would have loved you to have been one of us ;) but Gemini is allright, I have my rising something in Gemini which, as I´m told, makes me more lively, social and flirty than Taurus usually is...so I guess I´m practically Gemini then :)
May 6th, 2014
Hey it's better to be very early than very late :) @kass @susale
May 6th, 2014
@janim True:) Besides it's the thought that counts, and it was a beautiful gesture, so who cares if it was not a right day:)
May 6th, 2014
Beautiful capture. I like the somber mood. Great tones.
May 6th, 2014
Lovely capture.
May 6th, 2014
Beautiful shot, but it does have a sad feel to it.
May 6th, 2014
Very cool really like this shot. You have made this the most isolated flower.
May 6th, 2014
Love this one, even if it's a a bit sad indeed...
May 6th, 2014
I agree with all those who say this has a sad feel, but it absolutely works. Great pic :)
May 6th, 2014
seeet and delicate! Lovely!
May 7th, 2014
This is lovely- I like the monochrome. It has a nice feel to it.
May 7th, 2014
A very sad capture. Beautiful. *wipes tear*
May 7th, 2014
I think the amount of space around the flower serves to emphasise its alone-ness. I like the monochrome and it seems to me that the warm tones suggest that being alone is not necessarily a bad thing.
May 7th, 2014
This one conveys the mood much better. Colours are attractive of course but they can often get in the way of something deeper. Fav for me!
May 7th, 2014
Blue flowers are becoming my favorites, but this just seems to flow so well...I am swept up in the pensive mood and feel of the scene. I'm finding myself drawn to more subdued monochromes ever since I participated in the b/w book club. They seem to convey abstract, interior states of our emotional environments so compellingly, without too much distraction...
May 8th, 2014
@gratefulness Thank you Sandi for all the great comments. I agree with the monochromes, it does seam to convey moods more effectively than colours and I feel that it also freezes time, you get the feel that time stands still.
