A diary shot, just to remind myself how awesome I am ;-) Seriously I am proud of myself, proud cos I resisted this apple cake right under my nose while we had our regular group meeting at the mediation office with our counselor . Yes I could have easily moved into a different chair but I decided not to cos I always sit right there in that exact same chair - and besides you kind of forget the whole cake after a little while. So one more day survived without any sugar.
@kali66 Actually I don´t find it very hard, I have been without sugar months at the time, I basically just have to decide that I will be. Now I have only been 4 days but yesterday was only time I had a hard time cos I hadn´t been eaten proberly so I guess I craved for the easy carbs.
@moonmtn I am sure you are, after you sugar off your system you don´t really even want it anymore and after being without it for a while no goodies taste good but way way too sweet
@kali66 but it´s always hard at the beginning as every new diet is but at least for me the 3 first days are the hardest and after a week my body pretty much gets used to pretty much everything. A year ago I went through CellReset and got used to eatin nothing but plain chicken/fish and eggs for a whole week!
Now I have to shut the computer and off to eat - you have raised my appetite to the full and my tummy is groaning. These look so very delicious. Wonderful shot.
@blueberry1222 Yeah I know. One time we had a seminar and were staying in a hotel and the the guest on line before me asked the receptionist in English what´s the seminar all about that is going on - there were about 500 of us just walking all around with our name tags and the receptionist didn´t know what we were called in English and saw me there in line with the name tag and ask me if I know what we were called in English and I said sure I know, we are mediators and we are having a national mediation conference and I noticed that he -the one to ask- looked puzzled so I had to add that we are mediators not meditators :)
I'm very very impressed! With the image and your will power. I've had to be on a no, then low-fat diet for the past month, and as a total addict to peanut butter, chocolates, avocados, olive oil, and all kinds of desserts, I know it can be hard! But I have learned I don't have a weight problem, actually -- I had an eating problem and do feel better! Wishing you well on your diet! Sugar is so bad for us...it has to be worth it in the end to give it up.
Oh wow! Well done with both this shot and your will power!
So sorry I have been neglecting my commenting the last week but have had company steady. I thought it would be rude to neglect my guests to be on the computer! (But I did miss my time with 365!)
well done! Its not that hard after a while!
Have given up sugar long ago ... soon you will not notice it
looks appetizing indeed! You did a good job capturing it
fav
The chocolate in the back ground would have been harder for me to resist- but- I'd be able to do it now. Bravo Suse!
@kali66 I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and knees. I began a program back in March that in the beginning I didn't think was going to work out well- no glutten, no sugar, no "night shades" (tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, peppers), only "good" fats, no dairy and only whole foods. My head said it was so restrictive! But within a month I could tell I was definitely feeling better. Within two months the swelling in my knees and the knuckles of my hands was obviously going down. Within the third month I could stand longer, walk longer, and bend my hands without any pain. I was convinced! I must admit that there are occasions (like my granddaughter's birthday) where I will break the rules (ice cream and cake! in small doses) but I'm back on track the following day and not craving those things like I used to. All I can say is that it seems hard but it's so worth it!!! Find something that won't overwhelm you at first but will give you the confidence to continue. Believe me, if I can do you it, you can too!
@olivetreeann thanks Ann, I have heard good things related to RA and diet and agree that it is something i should try, but right now its a bit daunting, having still to cook for family, lifelong habits... i guess it will have to get bad enough that i am desperate to try anything! I thought I eat pretty healthy, but gluten, dairy, nightshades are the bulk of my present diet!
@kali66 That'll do it! Yes- it is hard to do that when you've still got a family to cook for. Sometimes I'll cook regular potatoes for hubby and a sweet potato for me (they're not night shades!). But that's not easy to do when there's more than two! Start small- take just one thing out if you can. I'll be rooting for you!
