The Bowes Museum

This is where I met my 365 friends, Rita @barneyone, Claire @claireuk and Annabelle. It's rather grand isn't it? The Bowes Museum was purpose built as a public art gallery in the style of a magnificent French chateauin the late 19th century for John and Josephine Bowes. Sadly they both died before it opened in 1892. The museum houses internationally renowned collections of European fine and decorative arts.
We didn't go inside, except to the coffee shop. It was a beautiful day and there was too much to do outside. I'll have to go back one day.
I loved this place when I went years ago....there is a very unusual clock in the entrance if I remember rightly?
