Today I went to Croft Castle, a national Trust property nearby. The castle (actually a large house) was decorated as it might have been decorated during the war when money was scarce and everything was rationed. It was really all about how everything was made by hand from whatever they could find. the National Trust volunteers had made all the decorations and they were delightful and very effective.
