A first for me. This is only the 3rd time I've seen a sparrowhawk and the first time I've photographed one. Charlotte and I were in the garden with our cameras this afternoon and Charlotte spotted it. This was the best I could do before it disappeared into the undergrowth.
Keep putting nuts and seed out for the passerine birds Sue, is basically putting 'live' food out for the Sparrowhawk and the other raptors. Mother nature at her best.
A beautiful looking bird and capture -- but I have never forgotten the sparrow hawk when he plummeted down and took the beautiful collared dove that was on my back lawn ! ( I know this is their nature ! ) !!
