Poor Blind Bunny

This bunny was munching away happily on the lawn in the middle of the day and it wasn't until I zoomed in that I saw that he was blind. Both eyes were closed. Later in the afternoon he was in the front of the garden and I got very close without realizing it and without him noticing. I guess the future isn't rosy for this unfortunate bunny.
Myxomatosis perhaps? I do hope that horrid disease is not back, it devastated the rabbit community so much years ago.

@happypat I never thought of that Pat but now you mention it we had a dead rabbit on the lawn about a week ago. I do hope it isn't that dreadful myxamatosis. I'll let you know if we notice anything else.

@susiemc I hope not Beryl. I googled myxamatosis and blindness is one of the symptoms, plus we found a dead rabbit on the lawn about a week ago and there was nothing to suggest how it had died. It hadn't been attacked by anything.

Mixie maybe. It’s comes back now and then. The symptoms you desribe suggest it is. Poor little mite.
