Green, growing by suzanne234

Green, growing

Things go back to been a little weird today.

I'm trying to combine two challenges here, the 52 portraits of me and the rainbow challenge.
This weeks portrait theme is growth, which I presume to mean personal growth. Anyway, for the life of me I couldn't think of a way to show this.
I then thought back many many years ago to my primary school days and learning about growing cress in plastic drinking cups. So that is how I ended up clasping a bunch of it for the theme.
I also remember been entrusted to look after the class hamster during a school holiday. That was such a treat, and as a bonus, it survived the ordeal.

As always, thank you for your lovely comments, I really would understand if you're not so kind with this one :)

Next weeks portrait theme is to Imitate a Classic Painting. I have something in mind, I so hope it works.
Very clever!

I bet it tasted good. Takes me back to my dad growing it on a piece of flannel. Lovely glow.

I like the glow too - nice processing. Really a lovely image. Also, so happy to hear that the hamster survived. I've followed you long enough to worry about the outcome:)

Remember the days of growing cress on cotton wool, always good in sandwiches (egg and cress I recall). The glow (or motion blur) was a great idea.

whaha, and as a bonus, it survived; it' s a bit like my poinsettia's, they are still going, I think because I neglect them :-)

Suzzanne - I hadn't looked at next weeks theme yet. I have been struggling with this weeks all week. Oh my gosh - this is such a difficult challenge. I love the way you have interpreted it and the task of growing cress as a young school pupil is one I can definitely identify with. (They would never have given me the pet though!). Great combination of challenges.
