I bought this bird house for my father-in-law a few years back, he never got around to putting it up properly and it was simply placed in an empty wall planter.
We were all delighted to see it in use this year by a family of great tits. Here's one of them bringing some food back for the babies.
Not the best of shots, I'm still to get the hang of birds, I doubt I ever will to be honest. It is however, closer to a half and half then the last few days have been.
I doubt I will be a bird photographer either but I have put up two bird feeders in our backyard and two squirrel feeders. I am hoping they provide some fun photos but in the meantime, Sophie and Katniss enjoy all the added activity in the yard. :)
You are certainly ambitions with your half and half shots! This is a lovely box - good to see it in use and occupied. Our new box this year drew no interest.
How excellent - to be able to watch this family bring up their young ones. In our area we have no birds that look like this - they have lots of character. :)
This is way posher than the very basic one in the garden, and the sparrows who are thinking about moving in unless they get a better offer are nowhere near as colourful:)
Great shot of my most visiting bird in our garden. The ``Koolmees`` I`ve even see the youngest flying out the birth nest. The show was withinn 5 min. Fav.
