Sidney by swillinbillyflynn

Sidney

When seagulls are born they have a full set of grey/brown plumage which helps to camouflage them against the rocks. Once they get to about a year old, their adult plumage starts coming through.

Sidney here, was most upset about how scruffy he looked in this transitional phase. I reassured him that he would eventually grow into a fine handsome young chap and all the lady gulls would be flocking to see him in a few months time.

That at least brought a smile to his beak. :)
Love this shot

Looks like he's gazing with anticipation at a bevy of beauties out of frame. Patience, Sidney, patience.
