I planted about a 100 sunflower seeds and most of them sprouted. I nurtured them in my greenhouse and when they were ready I planted them all over the garden......... They were then smitten by a plague of biblical proportions. A host ravenous sluggy buggy snaily wiggly and nasty bugs ate the bloody lot in the space of a couple of days....... apart from this one survivor. Not sure what to do next year as I love sunflowers.
Any advise on stopping marauding plant munchers would be greatly appreciated. :)
my son had this problem, but the remaining specimen did very well being an only child. i planted some later than he did and thought i would win by sheer numbers, chucking dozens of seeds into a small area and what do you know they all grew,,, very small . the story is the critter like beer and drown in it but i have seen a video of a snail imbibing and wandering off on a zig zag., so the best thing is to go out at night with your cutlass and a torch and give em what for. speaking of which the pirate culture should be rich subject matter fora selfie this week, yes?
