Shooting for the bullseye by swillinbillyflynn

Shooting for the bullseye

My trusty Zenit photo sniper camera with it's massive zoom lens. This kit was developed in Russia during WW2 for taking recognisance photos of enemy troops.

It is an amazing bit of kit.... but I don't dare take it out of the house these days for fear of being reported to the police and being taken out by the local swat team.

The complete kit is here https://farm1.static.flickr.com/158/408628039_36e03cbba6.jpg

My contribution to this weeks fiveplustwo-bullseye theme.
Are we going to see the photo you took - as Kitty probs did this one !!!!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond I used my remote trigger for this one.... It's just visible in my left hand. Kitty is holding up the backdrop. :)

Still got mine. Literally bomb proof and a shutter that made a noise like a jack hammer. Circa 1972 me thinks

that rig would actually be a great stabiliser in lieu of tripod, does the trigger actually trigger the shutter?
April 3rd, 2021
@kali66 Yes it does. The hand grip and shoulder rest work really well for stabilisation. The 300mm prime lens is just fabulous.

@padlock Yeah, I think they were released to the commercial market after the war for nature photographers, spys and the paparazzi. Originaly based on FED cameras with a wooden rifle stock back in 1942. The metal box ones using modified Zenit cameras were 1970's cold war era. Later models came with a canvas bag. You can date them fairly accurately by the camera model used as they seem to have updated the kit every time they released a new Zenit Camera. :)
