Today I had the opportunity to take part in a trip with the local Association for Nature Conservation (Oulun luonnonsuojeluyhdistys, OLSY) to the Liminka Bay, a protected area very famous among birdwatchers. This is supposedly the perfect period to admire the geese migration. Even if bird-watching is not among my favorite hobbies I loved this trip. We had a snowy morning which became a sunny afternoon and while everybody was busy watching birds I chose to take pictures of the people and the landscapes we encountered.
Fantastic portrait! This man is a fanatic - one can tell right away! The wind in his hair is a bonus! BTW what is he holding in his left hand? A sigar !?
Oh, that does it! FAV! I'm nuts about this portrait! There is something utterly fenno-ugric nature scientist thing there - given I am Estonian and my uncle is a biologist researching beavers, I should know :P
Love this!! Who needs bird-watching - you've captured something much more fascinating! I adore the intensity of this image, another wonderful candid portrait.
