Day 008
January 8, 2013
This was unplanned. I had already set up everything for today's picture. My new AGFA Close-Up Macro Filter Kit had just arrived at home and I was ready to experiment a bit with it. I only had to have some lunch before spending some time taking the pictures. Normally, I would not have brought my camera to the local grocery store, but since I started this Project 365 I got the habit of having the camera always with me.
On the way back I noticed that one of the trees was hosting some little guests. I am not into bird photography in general but in this case the contrast of the white of the snow, the red of the rowans and the brown of the birds captured me. I only had my 50mm lens with me, so I had to get pretty close to them to get any decent shot, but they seemed not to notice me. At the end I took more than one hundred pictures, trying different settings, until my hands got frozen.
I will play with the filters tomorrow.

Glad you took the camera with you! This is a fabulous shot, so much detail, especially the berry on his beak. I like wildlife photography but much of it is the same, but this is a fav for sure!
You really took advantage of a serendipitous moment -- with over a hundred photos ??? I call that a smart way of making a GREAT Opportunity! Love the photo -- definitely a FAV.
Nice and clear shot Zanni!! You are right about this camera carring habit. I too have lately developed this. It make quite difference if we have carry camera with us coz we never know when the right moment comes!!
Very beautiful photography
