For get-pushed-34, I'm continuing to work with a flash. This one was done with manual settings and is a little over exposed, but I liked the softness of the lighting/colors.
@pflaume Thanks Lisa. You are so supportive -- I really appreciate your comments! I must have taken 30 shots of these with the flash and different settings. Great fun -- and still a lot to learn.
@karenpics@colie@lisay Thanks Karen, Colie, and Lisa. @olivetreeann Ann, that's exactly what happened as the rose was a much deeper pink. @tthompsonca Thanks, Terri! I use a 105 macro for these and it's really a terrific lens.
Oh, it's gorgeous! I love the yin-yang of the two outside petals, and the way the highlights are so soft. Well done! Definitely would not be the same with only ambient lighting.
@spirrowshoot If it hadn't been for your challenge, my flash would still be sitting in its case in the 'never used' category. Now it's made me interested in learning about setting it up off-camera, strobe flashes, and other lighting. Thanks!
Hi Taffy, I'm your get-pushed-35 challenger. I have looked through your collection and all are so vibrant and bright. That's why I would like to see you attempt a Low Key Black and White photo. This my first time participating in the get pushed challenges so if there is anything else I need to do, please let me know.
Good luck.
@dtigani Hi David! This is a good get-pushed for me. I'm planning to try my first one with one of the roses -- we'll see if it works. I'm still looking at your shots and thinking up a good get-pushed for you, given your range of experience already.
True that the top right petal is a bit over...but it's spot on where it counts and I don't think that detracts from the image as a whole, which has wonderful tonality (and if you wanted to get rid of it I suppose you could always do a tight crop!)
@olivetreeann Ann, that's exactly what happened as the rose was a much deeper pink.
@tthompsonca Thanks, Terri! I use a 105 macro for these and it's really a terrific lens.
@kwind @kimshots @carolmw @topcat @elisasaeter @scarlettau @kerristephens Thank you all so much! It's so encouraging to read your comments - especially when I was trying something new (the flash).
Good luck.
