I started May with a flower, sprinkled them throughout the month's postings, and thought it was fitting to post one of the last day of the month.
Peter lives down the beach from us and has one of the most spectacular garden's on the island. It was on the garden tour last year but he's been asked to participate every year. He and one other neighbor (Ruth) are my garden gurus. You'll see other photos this summer from their wonderful areas.
This was a teeny little flower (about an inch in diameter and maybe 3 inches tall) amongst some towering beautiful bushes. It was all alone but just popped in color against the mulch (natural color is pink).
I did processing (obviously) and also flipped it (it faces upward from its tiny little stalk).
You made it pop..made it look huge! So great! I read that it was this was your last day of May post..I was like "no way!" I was wondering where May went...seems like it just began. I was doing a few flower shots for that may-flowers theme of Ann's. Anyway, i know were May went...I am a school teacher and end of year for us is crazy crazy busy. Now..on to summer!
@espyetta A fellow teacher! I totally agree -- the month of May just flies by in the blink of an eye. Enjoy summer -- time for reflection, gathering our wits about us again, breathing slowly, and then in a blink, we'll be getting ready for fall!
@espyetta No kidding! I'm only a year away from retirement -- next year is last full time year, then half-time the last year. I taught 4th and 5th grade, then spent the rest of my time in higher ed teaching teachers. How long have you taught?
Thanks so much for commenting on this one. It's one I particularly like so it makes your comments all the more special.
