A treat tonite - Jim and I met friends for dinner, but stopped at their new condo first. The views were quite phenomenal and ones I rarely get to photograph from, so I thought I'd post even thought the sky isn't that great. The building in the center with the two antennae is the John Hancock, one of our tallest, mostly residential tower. The Prudential in the front was the tallest building in the city when I was growing up and I remember my parents taking us up there so that we could "see all the way to Indiana." Beyond the buildings, you can see Lake Michigan. If you could see 300 miles further north, you'd be able to see Beaver Island!
Alternate shot today was from the walk through the park to their condo, of one of the two Crown Fountains and the reflecting pool. It was such a calm, clear night! http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-09-23
Thank you all so much for your response to the Lurie garden photo yesterday which popped it onto PP today. I really appreciate your continued support! And thanks to all who have said you'd like to visit Chicago -- it's a GREAT city so I'm glad I've been able to convey how special it is.
Gosh when you were talking about the Pru and the JH I thought this was Boston but nay, nay. What a view, what a lovely shot too. Bet they would love having a huge copy of this over their sofa!! Well done!
Taffy, this is a great shot. The clarity, colors, composition and very sharp focus make this a FAV! I agree with you the POV that you had to take this shot is fantastic.
@pamknowler Their view really is incredible. This was looking north, and then if you looked to the east, they overlook Millennium Park and the lake, and then south to museum campus. I don't think I've ever seen a condo with a better combination of views!
Thank you all so much for faving this last night. Yours were the comments I read right before I went to sleep and I'm sure I smiled all night long!
