North Avenue subway station, next to the Apple Store (where I went for help re the Aperture crash last weekend). What a difference between mid-afternoon and rush hour where there would be wall to wall people. I don't think I've ever seen an empty subway station - it felt a bit creepy.
Thank you all for your lovely comments on Mountain and Foothills yesterday.

Fantastic shot. Amazing how the right lighting works to creat such an atmosphere in a place which is usually seen to be unattractive, to say the least! I really like the depth of field and leading lines.
Wow I love this shot! Great atmosphere and the lights on the ceiling are perfect! I always look at your exif details and see this says you shot at f 1.4 - is this hdr so this is the exif for only one shot? I could never get that dof with the shutter wide open. This is the kind of shot I would love to take. Do I need nik software for hdr? Hope you don't mind all the questions! Fav of course!
@pamknowler I took it at 1.4 with my 50mm, at 1/10, 1/20, and 1/40 sec shutter speed, then combined them with Nik HDR Efex into a single image to sharpen the details. Then, processed in Silver Efex. I highly recommend both of these plug-ins (I use them with Aperture, but think they work in others like LR and PS). So glad you liked it!
fabulous shadows and shapes - i remember spooky deserted underground stations in london and the sounds echoing down the tunnels and walkways - this platform looks soooooooo long! fav
@archaeofrog@anazad511 Katie and Ana, Yeah, I agree -- I took it in front of the trash can, but that meant a trade off for the long row of arches. I decided trash is just a part of the grittiness of the stations so went with this version. I wish I knew how to clone out something this big!
@sjouk Thanks so much for the view, comment, and fav Sjouk! For some reason, your fav isn't listed, so the click might not have been accepted. I appreciate the thought!
Wow how did I miss this wonderful composition. I love the loneliness in this shot last one in the station, what meets you around the corner? and empty train or a shadow. Well I got carried away with this one my friend a definite FAV.
@pflaume Thanks Lisa -- it was fun being up there with you and other 365 friends. It feels like we've all learned so much over the past 11 months or so.
I totally agree. I feel like I have a different/new identity -- I've never viewed myself as an artist of any kind and am enjoying this discovery of just how much I enjoy it and how much I want to try to keep pushing myself. But, I also feel the need to clean my office, etc and other things I'm ignoring!
Congratulations on TT! This must be a photo you took while I was following Apple Maps and circling on the streets overhead! I also took this same image some time ago, but it had one person sitting on the bench. INtersting how that one person makes a difference in how the place feels.
Thank you Catherine, Linda, Corinne, and Arefin! I really appreciate the favs! This image stayed on PP all day today -- and I know it's thanks to you!!
Thanks so much for the visit and comment, and Elaine, for the Fav.
