My get pushed challenge this week is forced perspective, challenged by Phil @filsie65. Because we are so used to seeing the moon, we don't usually think of it as a surprise to find other objects dominating the moon in size. But in reality, the moon is not smaller than the top of a skyscraper (and it's not being shot out of it, either).
This is a color version, taken two days after my earlier shot, Shoot the Moon, in b&w and with the moon somewhat higher in the sky - http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2014-01-13. Main album and challenges (extraas) album shots are switched so I can maintain my bw theme in the extras album - http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2014-01-16
Fabulous! Love that moon. We had a blood red moon, low on the horizon, one night last week but, alas, it was on a day when I was running late and I had left my camera at home...
Wow this is wonderful! I took a shot of the moon tonight too - I'll put it up just for the fun of it but it isn't a patch on this. Brilliant shot, and definitely a challenge answered. Well done Missus! :)
@filsie65 Oh -- and thanks for the challenge -- it was fun thinking about what might work, given the limitations of weather making outside planning and hanging out no fun!
@libertylady@linc Thanks Cheri and Alice for your fav's on this shot! It's one of my favorite views, but it happens so very rarely. I wanted to photograph more but my fingers had totally lost all feeling from the cold and I had to get indoors.
this is a great shot Taffy ... it comes out as effortless ... but the way the lighting works here is awesome ... it seems like the moon is resting .. super focus and details .. huge FAVVV!!
