Taken late afternoon in Lincoln Park on my way back to the car from a project meeting. Processed in Topaz. I just loved this tree and was pleased that the sun cooperated in sort of coming out from clouds at the exact moment I had to snap the photo.

Nice photo Taffy. I was in your neck of the woods yesterday having fun photographing city life for my push this week. The tree there is eerie, nice processing.
Hi again oops, didnt know that you had been given a portrait shopt last week. Would you like me to change it to spirals instead.
As for my challenge from you. I will certainly give it a go. I only have a fairly basic Olympus point and shoot camera and I dont have a really good editing programme either but I will experiment over the week and see what I can come up with.
@mumswaby Sure, spirals could be interesting! Re water...for low-stress, think about using a water dropper onto a blank CD, in sunlight. You'll get all kinds of interesting patterns and it won't require special equipment other than a water dropper (you can get those at any pharmacy or drug store) and a cheap disposable blank CD. And some sun!
I had also thought about bubbles and the abstract colours that they provide. I will see and I will experiment. Thanks looking forward to this one. Oh, and I have updated my profile.
@pplutz Thanks so much for the comment! I shot it into the sun with a pretty low aperture. Then, I upped the saturation in Aperture. I then used Topaz Adjust to get the colors where I wanted them, exported back to Aperture, and then used Color Efex diffusion filters until I had it softened to the tone I wanted. It sounds more complicated as I wrote this than it actually was. But I did end up starting over three times because I wasn't happy with the look on the first two tries - I knew what I wanted it to look like in the end and had a few false starts. Thanks for the follow too.
@michaelelliott@libertylady@pflaume@maggiemae@roseolivia Thank you Michael (your email is how I found out!!), Alice, Lisa, Maggiemae, and Rachel. I've not had email access or internet today until now so this is really exciting! You have all been so supportive and I really appreciate it!
Also the processing is awesome!
It's a fav
