I had a little time before dinner yesterday so drove a little away from the resort where our meetings are being held to find a place where I could leave the car to take photos of farmland. After my focus on urban life, I thought it would be fun to take advantage of being in such a rural area. I find beauty in this wide open areas and admire the farmers who clearly have a lot of work ahead.
Thanks to you who commented (and sometimes fav'd) my shot of Night Falls on The Abbey. It's so lovely that you've taken the time to do that, given my temporary absence from the site.
I can't believe this is the same photo that you posted in black and white for today. Such a dramatically different feel for the two. This one does exactly what your caption promises -- shows midwest farms at spring time!
So interesting to see the two photos side by side. The B&W version looks so different, stark yet with it's own beauty. You would have liked the images I saw at The Photographers Gallery in London on Friday. It's newly opened and is showing photos by 4 photographers in contention for a photography prize at the moment. Great...looks like a lovely part of the world!
Reminds me of my home county of Norfolk here in the UK although I know they are probably wildly different in the greater scheme of things. Great countryside shot.
