This is one of my favorite views of the village our friends live in for half the year. Taken as the sun was starting to set. You can see the Roman bridge (the one that didn't wash out in the flood of 1992, while the new bridge was destroyed) connecting the Roman hillside village that was the original community with the other, "newer" (still hundreds of years old) side of the village. Mt. Venteux is in the background. You can see why it's listed among the top 10 villages in Provence.
We actually have now spent our first day in Barcelona. But I've run into computer memory and backup issues and while sorting them out will post shots I'd wanted to post earlier. We had a great time in southern France, enjoyed the adventure of getting from France to Barcelona without GPS or a good map (enjoyed is perhaps too strong a word). I'm impressed with all Barcelona has to offer -- another photographer's dream!
When it's not overused, I love to hear the expression, "THAT's what I'm talkin' about!" It fits here to such a degree I can only ask if you might like to add it to http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/22340/camera-setting-challenge-golden-hour#comment-658033 and add CSC14-8 on your photo tag. Some people have nailed it, some are struggling, and I think it's wonderful to see work everyone should emulate. "This be it"...
Stunning in its light, architecture, landscape and color! The clock tower has esp. caught my eye. Thank you too for the history lesson to go along with this gorgeous picture.
Beautiful capture! I'm sure it is absolutely breathtaking when you're there because the picture is wonderful. I love the fact that the ancient bridge was sturdier than the one constructed with all the modern know-how!
Wow I missed this, what a striking shot, and view, it just leaps off the screen and your eye is draw all the way in by that beautifully lit bridge, so well captured.
@lisahans How fortunate you are to have been there recently! We have friends who have a small apartment there and spend December - May or so there each year. We love that area and getting to visit them is such a treat. I hope you post your bridge shot and tag me!
