Barcelona is filled with walkways and passageways. We came upon this one off Las Ramblas - a huge, beautiful boulevard wider than most streets, limited primarily to foot traffic. It stems off the main square filled with street performers, students, tourists, office workers, and so forth -- people of all ages and walks of life. This one is decidedly uncharacteristic -- so modern, and I liked the view down this stark modern walkway to the columned-lined street path beyond.
A single shot -- no HDR for a change!
I'm enjoying catching up -- I've missed some wonderful postings over the last 10 days!
Diary entry info - no need to read on -- made it home safe and sound, but my suitcases did not. They spent the day in London and are supposedly to be delivered sometime before 2:00 a.m., long after I plan to be asleep! But what a great trip and so many photos to process so major project ahead.
Really well spotted and captured. Taffy...this is a great combination of modern and old, and it has a beautiful lustre to it which I think might have been lost if it had been done in HDR. Really an eye-catching picture!
This is fabulous, we didn't see this one. We did walk down part of Las Ramblas but took a walk round one of the markets and then the old town. We had a very tiring day but managed to squeeze in a lot of sights in this beautiful city. I didn't realise you had been touring - how marvellous if we could have met up!
@busylady Wouldn't that have been fun -- a meetup in Barcelona! Didn't you just love all the photo opportunities? The contrasts of old and new, all the people, the fountains, the squares, the markets...I must have taken over a thousand! Like you, we definitely want to go back.
I saw this yesterday but for some reason did not get around to commenting...
the reflections, patterns and lines are amazing and the whole shot is atmospheric. a big fav!
Nice shot of this passageway. I like how you lighted and framed that. In the square at the end of that, you have a set of romanic tombs. I'm sure you enjoyed Barcelona and toke a lot of pictures. Las Ramblas is a place to discover again everyday :)
@jborrases I did enjoy Barcelona and look forward to coming back sometime in the near future (I hope!). It's such a beautiful city with so much to see and to do, so much history...I feel like I barely had a glimpse.
