A quick week -- we leave in the morning for Beaver Island for the holiday weekend here in the U.S. (Labor Day weekend). I took this photo this afternoon, the Chicago River looking south toward the city. I'm actually standing behind Whole Foods grocery store! There's quite a nice little walkway in the middle of this commercial district called west Lincoln Park.
Thanks for your views and comments on my city shots. I look forward to catching up on commenting this weekend.
Great to have views like this in the city...looks like a far distant rural spot! Nice composition. The reflection and clouds calls for an unconventional centre of frame horizon placement.
Yeahhhhh, back to Beaver Island!! I guess that's the last time for this year, right?! This photo is gorgeous with the reflections in the lake, and the city peeking around the corner on the left. Have a wonderful weekend...
If in doubt, ask 5 year old. He doesn't mince his words, yet to hide his truthful thoughts so I asked him. He says it's very nice. So Taffy, this is VERY NICE. Enjoy your weekend.
As I scrolled down my home page I went Oooohhhh. What a beautiful way to show off your city. Hope you have good weather on the island. I am staying home but heading to Windsor state fair tomorrow. Thanks for your comments on my pictures.
@joansmor@ceilidh Hope your travels went smoothly, Joan and Margaret. Thanks for your visit and comments on this shot -- I always appreciate your thoughts!
Beautiful, Taffy! I love the reflection and the alternate view of Chicago. Almost all photos I've seen of Chicago have focused on the buildings (and rightfully so), it's really interesting to see an image with a focus on the greenery and natural elements with the architecture being a small element in the background.
