After our all-night mostly awake flight on what Jim referred to as the 'baby charter,' we were greeted as we landed with such beautiful scenes. Day #1 was a wonderful start and I can already feel us relaxing. Some 'nerd fun' for the afternoon as guest with Bill and Junko with the Faculty of Education, then a walk in our very chic neighborhood including some outstanding ice cream, and dinner in Manuel Montt area with one of the presenters from the conference (original reason for this trip). Then sharing photos with Junko after the guys gave up on us. What a good day. Junko's shot was from 3 days earlier when the weather was totally fogged in. And mid-way through the day we had internet access and I learned my crab boat shot was on TT. I so appreciate your ongoing support for my shots!
This is DEFINITELY NOT the flatlands of the Chicago area! I'm envious, Taffy! Glad you'll get to mix business and pleasure on this trip. Relaxing should be mandatory for you and Jim after the past few weeks. Enjoy it!
Did you say 'ice-cream'??? I'll be on the next plane, it's my favourite food. Seriously, this is a great shot Taffy, it has a sort of ethereal feel to it that really appeals to me. And for that reason it's a fav for me.
@golftragic The ice cream (helado) place across from our hotel is listed as one of the top 20 in the WORLD!!!!! And it is amazing...I'll have one photo at some point, i'm sure.
@redy4et Thanks Elizabeth. I don't know the elevation in Santiago but we are in a valley surrounded by mountains. Coming in for a landing, I'm guessing I took this at about 8000 feet, but that's only a guess (higher than our 33rd floor condo!).
Beautiful capture of morning over the Andes! Love the colors and the feel of morning waking up the mountains. So glad we are on the Chile adventure together!
