I've been working on improving my portrait photography through some lucky requests from my brother (seen here), his wife, and @jyokota 's husband, all of whom needed a photo to use in various professional situations. I'd not been using my 85mm much and through these three events, remember why I like it so much! I wanted to capture my brother's kindness even while keeping it portrait-like.
Catching up on the open spaces from this month.
Very nice portrait. He does look very friendly and open. How nice that you have some willing subjects to practice portraiture with. Portraits are something that scare the living daylights out of me!
That is a lovely portrait. I own a 85mm just like you and also use it rarely. I find it hard to work with, because the focus is slow, but the results can be very rewarding.
This is such a lovely portrait. I like the catch lights in his eyes, and the friendly smile. The light is great, and the neutral background brings out his face so well.
Fabulous portrait! I recognized your brother on the six-word-story page! You captured his kindness and gentleness so effectively here. I want to work more on portraiture as well. Wait till you meet Wojtek here in Wroclaw!
