Dune Jumping by taffy

Dune Jumping

Met photo friend and her family at Donegal Bay Dunes for sunset photos which were a total bust. But her son was a most cooperative dune jumper letting us practice action captures and, I hope someday soon, layering in PS so I can show the series of jumps in one photo. This was one of my favorites.
P3 has posted in my extras album -- his adventure in relaxation:

Wonderful action shot! I have always wanted to do an image showing a series of shots of a bird in flight. I must check out how to do it.

@darsphotos I'm running out of time to learn PS before we go back to Chicago and move in, but my goal is to figure it out as soon as things settle down and my celebration will be to post the sequence in a single shot! Thanks for your continued support!
August 15th, 2015
Wow, how did you do that? Amazing action shot. FAV!
August 15th, 2015
@wordsmith Thanks Teresa! I had a very cooperative model for the jumping part, a nice sky and dune area, so I kneeled down (using higher ISO and fast shutter speed), with my shutter release on multiples so it would shoot several in a row, and clicked away. About half turned out -- great fun!
August 15th, 2015
He's frozen in mid-air -- and such height in that jump! Great capture!
August 16th, 2015

August 17th, 2015
I always have the hardest time capturing someone in the air at this time of the day. You did it so well!! Awesome action capture!
August 17th, 2015
....and, who says "white guys can't jump"?!! I can just visualize this as a series of jumps layered on top of one another....if you had your camera on a tripod and did not change your vantage point while he jumped should be very easy to do! You might want to look at one of the Levitation/multiplicity tutorial/challenges here!
