Our Photo Meet Up group had the theme of "Looking Up" so I decided to take it literally. I photograph at Millennium Park so often that it was fun to try a completely different 'take' on it. Obviously, the city is on the top half and its reflection in The Bean is the wiggly bit. It was a bit dizzying taking the shot as well as processing!

@skstein@maggiemae Thanks Maggie and Sandy. The Bean is actually the nickname for Cloud Gate which is one of Chicago's most famous sculptures. Here's a wikipage link that shows you what it looks like (and why it's called The Bean!). I was standing on the Michigan Avenue side looking straight up to the sky and using my wide angle. This way I had the Bean with the reflections and also the city skyline both visible. I think it's so interesting that without that background knowledge it would come across as a river or lake. Very cool interpretation!
Seriously, you are on a roll.....this is the best shot I have seen of the Bean! Love the straight buildings and their curvy reflections as if they are dancing! Tres sexy!!
I looked at this and though "now how did she get that look?" The bean of course. I have never wanted to go to Chicago until I started following you. I know next spring I have to go to Boston and attempt some "big City" photography. I could get my gf to go with me if I promised we would do some shopping. LOL
@joansmor Chicago is a photographer's dream -- I feel very fortunate to be living here! Except when I hear on the news that we'll be socked in with clouds for the supermoon eclipse. Bummed!
Simply Stunning Taffy!! I am following a Chicago site on twitter and the photos on there pale into insignificance compared to yours!! You should get in touch with the Chicago Tourist Board!! Huge Fav!!
@elaine55 It wasn't a 365 group, but a local photo group called Chicago and Beyond. I haven't gone back to the camera club as their emphasis is so much on film that it really didn't help me with my interests. Now that I'm phasing into retirement, I'm getting more serious about sorting out my options for improving -- where courses are offered, clubs, meetup groups, etc. I find 365 gives me the daily discipline I need and is such a supportive group that it is a good base for me. thanks for your visits, comments, and favs -- I really appreciate your support!
Cool reflections!

Was the photo group a 365 group or have you now found another group Taffy? Are you back to the the camera club at all?
