We had a great time today -- @jyokota@megmills from Cincinnati and I -- on a photowalk that included a tour of The Rookery, visit to the Cultural Center, and walk along Chicago streets. Great fun! This spiral staircase is part of the original building built by Burnham & Root and is the site of their architectural offices where the 1893 Chicago World's Exhibition was planned, as well as the city itself, following the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. A high spot for photographers visiting Chicago! We did learn that no tripods are allowed.
Thank you all for the wonderful response to the sculpture at night! And for those who worried, it was quite safe -- the blue hour with enough people milling about with their dogs and kids.
Absolutely stunning POV and capture -- great muted colours and clarity in the details - and looking at it from a dizzy heights -- reminds me of an elegant sea shell !! fav
@megmills Thanks for the fav Meg!! I hope you post something from the day as well. It was so much fun meeting you and we had a great time on the walk. @jyokota
Wonderful spiral staircase....such an architectural wonder! I see you really had to up the ISO on this shot....interesting how they don't let you take tripods to certain places....you always know how to get around it and get that shot, anyway!! FAV!!
@kelly2 Smiled at your comment. We were at the bottom, looking up. But I know what you mean as when I was processing, I kept thinking it could look either way.
FAV -- absolutely fabulous! Your composition and your processing are ever so much better than mine! Mine is not just upside down, it's just straight forward! I was so focused on getting the little rail, cutting out the cleaning bucket, and you found the artistry in the composition! FAV FAV FAV!
