Rocky Riverbed by taffy

Rocky Riverbed

Our day was filled with color, as you can see in my alternate album shots and in Daryl and Junko's photos. Processing this one, I found that the composition worked better in b&w. The Smokies are filled with beautiful rivers that meander throughout -- some on trails and others, like this one, not far from the roadway.
Another focus stack combination -- I feel I'm getting the hang of this at last, but have to try it with some closeups.

Lovely image! It's interesting that doing focus stacking with the moving water you have got a long exposure of the water giving a silky look.

Beautiful shot! As a kid my mom loved the smokies so we went to Gatlinburg every year from when I was in kindergarten to 12th grade. I haven't been back since I started playing around with photography though. I'd recommend you check out Cades Cove if you have time :)

@ithinkithunk Thanks for the visit! We went to Cades Cove today - at least tried a bit but only did half as traffic was snarled and it was a very gray day. We saw a little wildlife, but no bears. Many photos of lone trees! I do love this park, though, and can see why your family would return again and again.

@milaniet Thanks Melanie! Wouldn't it be amazing to meet Ansel Adams and have him talk about how he thought about his b&w landscapes?
