As Junko just wrote in her post, this was taken at La Padrera in the evening of our "All Gaudi" Barcelona photo walk/tour yesterday. The Padrera is a fascinating place, wild in its structure, that was commissioned by a wealthy family in the early part of the 20th century. It consisted of their mansion and 14 other large apartments. Today, it's a major tourist site on the Gaudi 'trail' -- though still consisting of private apartments and businesses. One apartment is now part of the museum. BTW, viewing on black makes a pretty big difference, if you have time.

I can't believe how fast the trip went, how much we were able to pack in, all the photos yet to process (it will be Barcelona all month, I'm sure), and that we're back home already!
Looking forward to catching up this weekend.
Stunning capture of a stunning building!! Love the fish eye effect!! Glad you had a great time - sounds like you packed in a lot!! Looking forward to your photos!! Fav!
I found Gaudi's work so startling and unusual that it's inspirational all on it's own. Make one want to think freely about your own art form. Bring it on Junko & Taffy. We're ready for you both.
This shot sent me to the web, to learn more about this architect and his work. Amazing buildings... the fisheye really helps one see the full scope of this structure. Very cool to see through your lens. Looking forward to more. :)
What a great building, love the tones and colors! Sounds like y'all had a great trip. I'm making somewhat of a spontaneous trip to Chicago at the end of the month, looking forward to the photo ops around there!
Always enjoy seeing the differences in your photos and Junko's. It was the same when my sister and I went out together. The same view photographed by a hundred photographers will be different each time and that is the uniqueness of photography.
This is such a fantastic image with exceptional color and detail! I like the different shapes and those plants! So glad I get to experience Gaudi through your lens!
This almost looks like an drawn illustration. A beautiful night shot - I was there during the day, and it had a very different feel. This low-light image is great, especially with those hints of deep and rich colors throughout.
@vera365 You're right about how different it looks from day to night. We went while there was still daylight, in the late afternoon and then went back for the night light show. That way we were able to see the transition from day to night. What an amazing place, wasn't it?
@joansmor We have fun thinking about what to 'pair' when we post. It's always fun to show that even with the 'same' shot, we'll have different takes (unless we purposely take the same shot, process together, and teach each other stuff!).
@pamknowler We really did pack in a ton -- I think under normal circumstances, it would be more like a week's trip, but without the guys to keep our pace sane, we were out from morning to late evening each day. It really made the short time there worth it, though!
I cannot believe you managed to capture so much of that space in this one shot...pretty incredible shot! I so totally appreciate and understand your need to pack as much as possible into this one week in Barcelona....it is such an incredible city with so much to see and experience.
My older sister, and incredibly creative person, has always loved Gaudi. She used to share a lot of info with me about all his structures. I would love to do this tour. Fav
Thanks for sharing Taffy!
