I'd given a talk at Dominican University last week and loved the architecture, so made arrangements to be able to go back and photograph. It led to a fun afternoon with @UKAndie1 and @jyokota as we had permission to photograph (including using tripods!). Fortunately, there were so many interesting areas to photograph that I can fill in yesterday's gap!
Andie was a slightly different angle for great effect: http://365project.org/ukandie1/365/2016-02-13
Check out Junko's from the same angle but with a super wide: http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2016-02-14
Powerful lines and curves in this shot Taffy. I particularly like the way the hand-rail lines intersect with the upward spiral, then topped with the radial lines of the skylight. Very impressive in b&w.
What a fabulous staircase! That was great that you could go back with your camera and capture this! A wonderful B&W image! There can't be much left in Chicago that you haven't photographed! I am so looking forward to seeing your beautiful city! I am meeting Sarah and the girls today - you may feel your ears burning as I am sure you will be mentioned!
@pamknowler What fun!! Have a great time together. We've been planning the week (Andie, Junko, and me) -- each taking one day of planning so you can count on us for some great fun! You should be sure to let us know any particular sites you want to photograph!
@taffy WOW you are all so kind getting involved like this! What a fun trip we are going to have! I was checking my new camera bag with lenses etc last night -,it seems very large and heavy! Are you using your new bag yet?
@pamknowler I've used it a few times and like it. It feels very balanced when I wear it even if it's heavy to lift it. I love that the tripod fits in the flap. I usually don't carry more than a few lenses at a time though, plus my wallet, and my little gear kit.
@salza Thanks Sally! I had no idea and didn't think I had taken a photograph that would even be in the running this week! It was so great to see @ukandie1 there as well!
@taffy Oh that is great they are both there. I always seem to forget about the TT, so never know I have made it until someone tells me. So thank you for the heads up!
I like comparing your image, which looks more like an accurate photograph, with the other that made TT, which looks more abstractual. Both great images, both deserving of TT.
