Chicago's Flamingo by Calder by taffy

Chicago's Flamingo by Calder

One of our public sculptures that makes Chicago proud. More information if interested at this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flamingo_(sculpture)

Taken today after a fun meetup with @ukandie1 to see the Van Gogh's Bedroom exhibit at the Art Institute. Hoping Andie posts from it -- I'll try to soon...too much to do and not enough time to do it.
Thank you for your visits to yet another butterfly!
That's massive! I like that there is a person there illustrating just how large this sculpture is. The sc allows it to pop.

Impressive! Like the Sally above, I also appreaciate the person to give this a perspective and that flaming red is Super!

Oh, I love that you've posted this one ... I remember you mentioning one of Calder's sculptures in Chicago after I posted his 'Spider' at La Défense. They are very similar, as you so rightly said at the time. What a beautiful image!

Wow, that is one big sculpture.
April 14th, 2016

As soon as I saw this shot I recognised your style Taffy. You're such a dab hand at urban built environment shots. I'm quite envious. I like this shot very much, especially the way you've brought out the sculpture's colour against the darker background. The red sculpture is very much the hero/ine of this shot.
April 15th, 2016
It was really red? Very dramatic!
April 15th, 2016
@maggiemae. Yes. It's that red. Striking in person
