Chicago is bracing for 6 - 9 inches of snow and we are supposed to be at a holiday part as far south of the city as we are currently north. Mmmm...brave the roads and celebrate with friends or avoid the roads and what could become a nightmare of driving...still not sure what choice we'll make so decided to post now, just in case.
Thanks for your great comments on the ORD train station!
OMG! Snow in small quantities is so lovely, but 10"! I know everyone must be thinking of the nightmare on Lakeshore Drive those few years back! So sad for your friends to have planned a party with that weather report looming, but at such a distance, I know I'd want to stay home!
@Weezilou All's well that ends well or whatever the saying is...we have only half that amount -- and some places even less. So we made it to the party and home without too much hassle and this morning, the roads are being cleared so all is pretty normal. Whew!
@jamibann Thanks, Issi! We ended up going -- an 80th birthday party for a special friend so we decided we had to at least try. A little slick on the way down, not as bad on the way back, and looks like we only have about 5" this morning, with roads already being cleared. I'm glad we didn't wimp out. Thanks for asking!
@jeffinvt Yep -- freezing cold, but not so much snow. We have all-wheel drive and whatever the tires are, they are all-season. Of course, we are mostly flat here so don't need to worry about Vermont kinds of road conditions.
