Swirling Snow Stops (Almost) No One by taffy

Swirling Snow Stops (Almost) No One

We are having the strangest weather today. In the past 90 minutes, we've had the heavy snow depicted here, bright sunny blue skies, snow flurries, gloomy gray skies. A good day to be inside packing with junk TV in the background.
Oh my that's awful!!!
I hope it clears up soon.

Great photo though :)

Captures the intensity of the snow beautifully.

Great storm shot!
March 14th, 2017
Wow!! Nicely captured. Stay warm
March 14th, 2017
That snow is really coming down! Enjoy your packing and keep warm :)

Cool capture...You're right...stay indoors :).

This sums up the weird day of weather perfectly! I took the Metra into the city this morning, and after being stuck at Western Avenue due to a vehicle on the tracks, for 30 minutes i decided to leave the train and walk into the city.Totally misjudged the distance, I dare not tell Tim where I walked from and the conversations I had with the homeless huddled under the bridges. That said it bought the stories of those that are stuggling to a more realistic point of view. An eye opening walk!
March 14th, 2017
Great capture of the stormy weather, stay safe!
March 14th, 2017
@ukandie1 You walked from WESTERN?????? OMG! First, totally impressed but second, you are totally crazy! I can't imagine how long it took you to do this, and in today's weather, what a range of weather you must have walked through.
March 14th, 2017
@taffy haha...I definitely got my steps in on fitbit :)
March 14th, 2017
What a great capture of the extreme weather!
March 14th, 2017
Interesting. I'm reading "Love Anthony" by Lisa Genova at the moment and this morning's section described late March snow storms arriving to darken moods but making the decision to brave it and head out to walk in spite of the conditions.
March 15th, 2017
Strong wind for sure, the snow is blowing almost horizontally. Wow! At least it wasn't gorgeous outside, that made it easier to stay in and pack.
March 15th, 2017
Oh that looks brittle!!! Do I detect that you're on your way out of there soon?!
March 15th, 2017
Nicely captured (but we really need some spring!)
March 15th, 2017
Oh wow, great capture of the swirling snow. FAV
March 15th, 2017
This shot shows the Chicagoland extreme weather perfectly... waiting until March to dump a load of snow on you guys. Great day to be inside... packing for an upcoming trip, if I recall?? :). Glad you are feeling better, too.
March 15th, 2017
@ukandie1 OK, so I HAD to look this up on the map. Very impressive, especially in the weather. Quite a slice of life on your walk, too.
March 15th, 2017
@rosiekerr it seemed such a such a short distance when on the train, like the blink of an eye...now I know better :)
March 15th, 2017
@rosiekerr Ah...that's packing for Thursday (Iceland is almost here!) but this packing is for moving out of the rental condo and back to Bill & Junko's for the night before we leave, to regroup and organize for the trip. A little crazy.
March 15th, 2017
Epic storm. It was a bust in NYC.
March 15th, 2017
This picture says it all! It looks frigid and, indeed, a good day to stay inside!
March 15th, 2017
Looks frigid!! Great shot!
March 15th, 2017
Mulled wine day if there ever was one.
March 15th, 2017
thankfully this weather didn't arrive Friday . Hoping you have clear skies for your trip. How exciting !!!!
March 15th, 2017
fabulous capture of crazy weather, thinking of all of those in the northeastern states where it's even worse ~ fav
March 15th, 2017
We're fortunate it'll be warming up this weekend; not sure how long it'll last though! Nice shot, you've really captured the moment.
March 15th, 2017
OMG!!!!! Definitely an inside day.
March 15th, 2017
Oh, my goodness! Excellent capture of that swirling snow! After viewing this photo and reading the comments I realize I shouldn't complain about our 50 degree mornings as I have the past couple of days.
March 15th, 2017
Fabulous shot a huge fav. I hope you are cosy and warm inside.

Strange weather here the last couple of days too. Still pretty warm for autumn, (24 C/75 F) but bucketing down with rain one minute and sunshine the next, pretty humid too. fav
March 15th, 2017
Excellent shot, a fav.
March 15th, 2017
Wow that makes me feel cold just to see that shot Taffy! At least you are not tempted out when you have all the packing to do! Hope the move goes smoothly- you are getting too much practice at this!! Safe journey on Thursday and I hope you enjoy Iceland! See you soon! Fav!
March 15th, 2017
Awesome picture.
March 15th, 2017
Heard on news this was your first snow in 2017. Not our first so not feeling sorry for you. LOL
March 15th, 2017
Holy cow, that really accentuates the fury of the storm! Great capture!
March 15th, 2017
Certainly sums up your terrible weather :)
March 15th, 2017
Wow, what a storm that blew through. So what is in the forecast for tomorrow? Sounds like a fun trip ahead and hopefully much better weather to leave for Iceland. You are still not in your condo and out of your rental one? So where do you go when you get back? I hope you have a great trip and have a place to call home when you return. What a long ordeal. Enjoy your trip, Taffy. I will have to pop in more often. Sorry, sick and sick and ready to be well. Stomach is bad, on bland food and Endoscopy and Colonoscopy on March 30. Meantime bland foods and meds. Not a good weight loss program at all but finding bland foods to eat. Life is crazy everywhere. 78 degrees here today. Sunny and warm. Safe travels.
March 15th, 2017
fav for your photo.
March 15th, 2017
A terrific image - what a strange day for you. Fav
March 15th, 2017
Sam
That looks sooooooooo cold!
March 15th, 2017
Goodness me, that really is wild weather today! I guess that is the nature of storms. One minute fine, the next completely crazy. Love the picture, really sums that up.
Hope you're feeling much better now?
March 15th, 2017
Wow
March 15th, 2017
Super capture of the drizzling snow. It does look like a ferocious storm. Fav.
March 15th, 2017
Great composition and perspective to get this poor soul making their way to some destination. FAV!
March 15th, 2017
Excellent capture of the snow.
March 15th, 2017
super pov and composition. Makes me shiver just looking at it!
March 15th, 2017
Looks like quite the blizzard
March 15th, 2017
Brave in. I wonder if this is the natural B&W and looks even more bleak on black.
March 15th, 2017
Great documentary shot that shows the force of the storm
March 15th, 2017
Wow... it's really coming down.
March 15th, 2017
Awesome weather . Looks very cold and windly. Hope you soon have our spring too.
March 15th, 2017
A great shot to record your unusual weather
March 15th, 2017
Awesome shot
March 16th, 2017
I enjoy this perspective from above, can really tell that it's quite the storm!
March 16th, 2017
That is an intense bit of snow! Great capture with the guy walking.
March 16th, 2017
This shot made me shiver! I'll bet you're ready for a change of scene. Can't wait to see your images of Iceland!
March 16th, 2017
@alyssakmac It looked a lot worse that it was. The squalls lasted a few minutes here and there but fortunately, not much accumulation. But at least when they did happen, the squalls made for a more dramatic image!
March 16th, 2017
Oh my! Dramatic and chilling
