I'm beginning to see creatures in the photos I took in Iceland. Pall had alerted us to this particular section. This was at Hraunfossar waterfall, the longest series of waterfalls I've encountered -- all along the cliffs that line a river, each segment in a different formation, some elegantly simple, some meandering, and this one - my favorite - shaped like someone who's throwing her hands up in frustration.
Or maybe that's projecting feelings, as I'm still deleting in anticipation of tomorrow's meeting and the need to transfer files. Hopefully tomorrow takes care of everything!
If interested, here's the context where I took this shot... http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2017-04-10
Check out Junko's image that shows the specific section where my book-dropping creation was located: http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2017-04-02
Thanks as always for your wonderful comments and favs. I'm so relieved you're enjoying the (never-ending) Iceland images)!
A lovely formation - I am always looking for a picture within a picture and here I see an ogre's head -- his two eyes , bulbous nose perhaps a ling white beard and tears streaming down his face ! fav
Beautiful! Looks like a tree to me! Dropped my external hard drive and now waiting to hear if any of my 17,000 can be restored. Yes, it was the only copy!! : (
Wonderful lacy pattern, created by the waterfall. So much to like about this one, including the color tones of the bank and the softness of the water flow. I hope you put this up on Flickr, because I think it will be a bit clearer there.
@rosiekerr Computer going in for repair tomorrow through, I hope, no later than Monday. Will post again after that unless I can figure out how to make the loaner I'm using connect to my other drive and dropbox. Joy...shouldn't have added up the hours today spent on recovery -- so frustrating! But keeping in perspective in compared to 'real' problems.
@sheilaj Allow a couple of hours there no matter what time of day! If you can go later in the afternoon the lighting works well. There was so much to experiment with -- different groupings, a bridge, a raging river above. Quite fun! Tripod for sure, ND filter if you have one (really recommend this!).
Oh, yes! I do see the frustrated hands up in the air and the book dropped in the water. Fantastic! Another excellent image from your Iceland collection. Now I'm going to check out your linked photo for the context where you took this shot. :-)
I loved Hraunfossar falls, the way the water just comes right out of the middle of the land... underneath the surface like a secret waterfall. Beautiful image. And a great title!
Reminds me of the little ghost in the series of children's books -- Georgie (had to do a Google search for the name - it's been a long time since I thought of him)
Cheering you on for your meeting today and hope it all goes well for you and your photos. Fingers and toes crossed for you!
