A Diet? Me? by taffy

A Diet? Me?

This goose who currently lives in the duck pond near Junko's was quite curious and watched me carefully as I photographed the ducks. After I took this photo, he (or she?) calmly turned and floated away -- like s/he'd been waiting for a turn to pose for me.
Thanks for your kind words on the Beaver Island sunsets! It has been lovely to be up here for the weekend. Happy holidays to those celebrating tomorrow.
What a cute chunk!

Awesome picture.

For some reason, the concentric circles of feathers around his (her?) solid body are really attractive... although they do tell you that circles and horizontal lines are NOT slimming! ;) A very handsome bird.

I've never seen the circles of feathers. Great capture! And fun story!
April 16th, 2017
I agree with the others - you are not normally aware of the feathers being in circles around the body!
April 16th, 2017
I am amazed he managed to float, he is huge.
April 16th, 2017
Excellent detail. Maybe he was making sure you took his picture too?
April 16th, 2017
He does look huge. I love the detail.

Ha ha, reminds me of my reflection at times!! Happy Easter to you and yours.
April 16th, 2017
Great capture. I've had a few shots where animals and birds seem to pose for the shot. Maybe its reincarnation ;)
April 16th, 2017
Terrific :)
April 16th, 2017
They are a very robust looking goose :)
April 16th, 2017
They are everywhere right now.

Who knew you could take such an interesting photo so close to my house? Great Goose Portraiture :) I like how this POV shows the feathers with a different patterning than you typically see from the side and other angles, and I like how that, along with the water and foreground have such varied textures.
April 16th, 2017
Love the composition with the watery background xx
April 16th, 2017
Gorgeous capture! Wonderful pattern and textures!

Fabulous :-)
April 17th, 2017
No idea of its gender, but this is a great shot of it.
April 17th, 2017
He or she is just showing off those concentric circles. And why not? Makes an excellent way to photograph a Canada goose.
April 17th, 2017
Great shot
April 17th, 2017
The circular look of her feathers are so cool. Great shot!!
April 18th, 2017
Detail in the feathers here is stunning
April 18th, 2017
@helenhall I think you are right -- he seemed so ready for me to photograph him! The pattern in the feathers didn't 'appear' to me until I'd downloaded it.
April 18th, 2017
beautiful shot, I love all the layers you can see in his/her feathers.
