The sunset tonight didn't look promising but then took a turn for the better. I liked the feeling of interaction between the rock creatures as the sun was setting. Definitely best on black if you have time.

A Beaver Island day, not particularly unusual:
1. Wake up to having no power. Get out non-electric based phone and plug in to call power company.
2. Discover car battery has died (in support of power system or coincidence? OR because Jim left keys in on position?)
3. Walk to neighbor to get a jump for the car, learn their car only runs for 5 minutes and then quits, but they have a landscaper there who loans them her car to give our car the necessary jump.
4. Meet friend for lunch and to go to nursery to pick out plants.
5. Return home to plant.
6. Realize I was unrealistic in the number of tomato plants purchased as full sun is only possible in one area on deck, requiring a pot for each plant or 2. Not sure where to put 14 pots of tomato plants as they will take over the deck.
7. Decide the tomato problem is too overwhelming so stop planting entirely and create little rock creatures.
8. Get camera and take pictures of rock creatures.
9. Realize it is almost 8:00 and we haven't started dinner.
10. Make dinner and complain about sunset not being particularly interesting.
11. Start doing dishes and realize sunset is turning into a good one.
12. Return to rock creatures with camera. The result of that takes up the rest of the evening.
13. Reflect on the joy of being on Beaver Island for the next few months!
I love it!
this superb image is even more beautiful when viewed on black - the white surround leaches the vibrancy of the colours..
No 1 spot on TT? a well deserved accolade..
Just finished marathon conference at McCormick Place, leaving tomorrow for Sydney!
