"Slimy Green Bug" Offers Me a Drag on His Peace Pipe, But I Declined
Day 3 of garden work...empty pots are now filled with colorful flowering annuals. Two plants still to put in the ground. Discovery of the day: I really don't like gardening but have now created a huge project of weeding, deadheading, transferring, more weeding, and mowing. So clever of me, not. BUT, while in the garden, with macro lens on camera, there are ever so many encounters with intriguing little creatures (as well as, I hope, worthy flowers!). And tomorrow is a golf day - yay! Retirement is a joy!
You may not like gardening, but you find really interesting creatures. I am not a keen gardener either but love to see the garden looking nice once the job is done.
This is a completely amazing macro! I don't like bugs but I can't help liking this fellow! Retirement is pretty great! It gives you all the time you need to dead head and mow! Lol!
Haha. Love the discovery of the day... sometimes I think I don't like gardening when I'm in the midst of it, but love the reward after the project is complete. Hopefully the finished project at least makes all the work worth it!
So many tiny surprises in the garden! I don't like gardening, either, although the results are often rewarding. Good for you! The lower left off center position of the wee green critter really draws the eye.
@terryliv Keep me posted on your travels as we will be back in October here and there. We may even move back if everything is done for the last week to 10 days, so might overlap for quite a bit of time. It would be fun to get together! And if we are moved in, we'll have a great spot for night photography of the skyline!
I have decided the best gardening around here is in pots. I'm ready to give up on the gardens in the front yard because even after spraying them this year the deer still got to my lilies and coneflowers which means not many bee and butterfly shots this year. This fellow is pretty colorful- maybe due to his "smoking". Great macro!
Great focus and close up capture of this colourfull bug.
The population of our country has been more then doubled sinds WW2 and still increasing. They all need houses. So the country side lost.
Love it... love the extreme DoF and superb Pov.. loving his brilliant colouring, he really pops from that subdued backdrop..
all i ever see are grey woodlouse..
Looks like we are going to miss you in Chicago. Looks like we will be there from about 10 Oct through to 31 Oct.
