A document shot, no need to comment. Pano taken with iPhone from living room window. Please ignore quality -- just wanted a happy kick off for this last stage of getting 'home.'
Toad thanks you for the lovely comments on his post, even those who commented about his rather large size and spotted skin! He felt famous for a time.
Start of document shots to track renovation and move 'home' at long last. Behind me were wrapped appliances, cabinets, countertops, and light fixtures ready for tomorrow's removal and donation to a nonprofit that builds housing for those in need. Tomorrow floor removal starts and final order for cabinetry goes in. As of today, move in could happen as early as end of September. We'll see!
So pleased to see this shot a Taffy as I have been wondering if you are finally in your home! How relieved you and Jim must be! I am looking forward to seeing your renovation images. Who knows next year I may be able to look out that window and see the fabulous view for myself! Lol! Fav- you deserve it!
I'm rapt for you and Jim that you have a home at long last after the interminable saga you've been through. Look forward very much to seeing the work-in-progress photos. Like @pamknowler I've gotta fav this shot given its history.
Nice view and have fun with the renos Taffy
FYI, we arrive in Naperville on 11 Oct and leave 02 Nov. We also have a trip to Niagara booked for 14-18 Oct.
OMG it has been a long journey. You will never want to move or remodel again. But what a story you have had to tell. (that is what I tell myself when something goes wrong but comes out right).
I have been missing from 365 for a couple of weeks so only just catching up again.
so glad to see you are finally 'home'. You must be so relieved to be settled after such a terrible journey. Look forward to some amazing shots from your balcony.
So glad the end is in sight for you. Lets hope it Is a happy new beginning. You have a tremendous view. to enjoy. Wishing you all the best with this final stage of getting ready to move back.
So now is this the same condo you were in during the fire renovations or is it a different one that needs its own brand of tlc- or am I missing something? Glad to see you're coming down home stretch!! And what an awesome way to make use of the things you're no longer using.
@olivetreeann It's the one we had rented, then convinced the owner to let us buy it, which he agreed, but then the renters who followed us extended their lease a year right before we bought it -- we knew that was a possibility, but they had said even if they extend it, they would be gone in a few months. Instead, they waited the full year, down to the last minute (and have even asked to store some things in our unit and storage space! Wimp that I am, I let them use the storage space through this weekend. But, it is ours now and after several years of being a rental unit, and not well appointed to begin with (very cheap flooring, for example, that showed the wear terribly), it required new floors, kitchen, powder room, painting, blinds, and eventually the master bath and guest bath need renovation but not for another year or two for those!
