Sherlock makes another appearance, as he was quite engaging this morning as I packed for my flight back. I'm not sure whether he was sacrificing one of his tennis balls so I'd have a toy to take with me (maybe in thanks for playing with him yesterday?) OR getting my attention to continue throwing the ball for him. He is the most unrelenting 'fetcher' I've come across -- and that includes a lot of golden retrievers!
Thank you for your wonderful positive comments yesterday -- my mom will be in Chicago with us til Friday so hopefully will enjoy her time here.
Oh this tells such a fantastic story! Love it! He obviously loves you Taffy and wants you to stay and carry on playing with him! The opposite of Finlay who if you throw a ball looks back at you as if to say “fetch? I’m not a retriever!” Fav for such a wonderful shot- love the sc too!
What a PERFECT use of selective coloring! I clicked on this to comment when I saw it on Trending -- before I knew it was yours! See you in a few hours.
@pamknowler Laughing at Finlay's description. Nutmeg used to like to have me throw balls for her. She'd amble over to 'find' the ball and then stand there proudly, waiting for me to come and get it. She had no clue about retrieving, but thought the game was one of finding something lost.
He looks like he has some or all Springer Spaniel in him and I know from experience how tenacious they are! Our family dog Pepper also had a look very similar to this- you just had to say Awwww when she put that face on! Cute shot.
@taffy I think they're in the same class of dogs- not sure as I'm not an expert! I just remember the Goldens, Setters, Spaniels and a few others were all used in hunting for finding and retrieving the "trophy" or food in some cases.
