Andie @ukandie1 and I did a three-sets-of-hand-warmers walk, from North Avenue Beach to Navy Pier (and much deserved hot chocolate) along the shore of Lake Michigan. It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be, and there wasn't as much ice and snow as we'd expected -- and it was great fun!
Such fun that the two of you can do these photo tours together! I must say, however, that no amount of padding could make me love the bitterly cold weather! I did want to try photographing a frozen bubble but that's it! I'll enjoy looking at your pictures and those from others while sitting here in California!
Oh now that is fun! I love the mix of ice and moving water. I smiled at how many handwarmers you got through too! I am looking for a pair of fingerless gloves currently because I take my gloves off to use the camera and forget to put them back on again and freeze! Methinks fingerless must be the way to go.....
hahaha! only we can say it's not so bad and we had fun! this is fantastic capture. maybe i will go down the beaches today and capture something like this. hmmm, the wind's howling though.😀
@ukandie1 -- just realized that tagging you in the description doesn't really tag you. What a great day!!! MANY disappointing photos but some that I'm quite quite happy with. See you tomorrow!
@taffy Love how you captured this, none of mine came even close to this. I had the same feeling as you regarding some of my shots, some very disappointing shots, but I can see where they could be improved. Looking forward to exploring the north side with you again. Thoroughly enjoyed our walk, and I have come away with some project ideas!
I think your cold is definitely putting ours into perspective. Glad you braved the elements to capture them so well. That is a fascinating build up of ice and I love the spray in the picture too.
Good Lord, woman, how much snow and ice did you think there would be, if this wasn't as much as you expected? Fantastic shot. It's got everything -- frozen water, not-frozen water...I'm cold just looking at it!
It's always fascinating to see water frozen like this. I wish I'd been feeling better the last few days as I'm sure our waterfalls look awesome. But a terrible cold, Jeff's pneumonia and a flat tire have kept me homebound! Good shot.
I'm starting to envy all these great ice shots - though not the cold which accompanies them.
