Green Line Soars Above Lake Street by taffy

Green Line Soars Above Lake Street

One more fisheye and then it will be retired for a bit. This is a common street scene throughout the downtown area, with elevated tracks above the street. This was taken just west of the downtown area as I was walking home. Converted to b&w in Silver Efex. A little more tweaking in LR.
Tomorrow is the 'greening' of the Chicago River for St Pat's day...fingers crossed tonight's expected storm is gone before morning!
I love the fisheye effect!

Meant to say that I'm looking forward to seeing the green river. St Paddy's day is time to plant sweet pea seeds here in this part of Oz.

I love the line distortions.

The fisheye gives it very much an M.C. Esther feel. Awesome.

I'm so pleased you decided to bring it out - all of these have been marvellous!

This is beautiful and just has to be viewed large and on black. Love the lamppost and all the signs and lines and curves. Super image.

This works really well. I always laugh when I see a sign saying "self park" as it makes me think there is a bench over there for people to sit on!

So cool to see! Your processing is fantastic. I like the way it looks like the train runs along the top of the building on the top left.

I feel like I am really getting to know Chicago through your photography Taffy. Makes me want to visit. This is a great representation of what you have labelled a common scene. Looks like an architects drawing. The fisheye shots have shown me just how effective (in the positive) this lens can be.

Cool shot

@casablanca Haha! To me a 'self park' sign in Chicago says "good luck finding parking"!

As somebody else said, this has strong M.C. Escher overtones....but unmistakably yours!
