This duckling was sitting on the hillside between a couple and their dog. The dog is just above where the duck was, next to the guy, and the duckling seemed to be trying to engage the girl. It was a park duckling, not a pet, but you'd never know from seeing how relaxed it was next to the dog!
Oh, ducklings will bond fast! When Ken and I were still dating, he gave me a bunny and duckling for an Easter gift! Every time the bunny moved, the duckling got up and ran to sit next to it! What a sweet little bird, and a perfect foil for everyone's photos!
Sweet capture! No way either Finlay or George would be sitting relaxing with a duck! I suppose it’s the terrier in them - they do not like small furry animals or birds! It’s strange the duckling allowed them so close? Where was it’s mother and siblings? I hope it was their pet they had taken out with them!
A lovely image, but he does look so vulnerable with his down, no feathers and no protective Mum and Dad. It seems impossible that he could survive.....
@robz Yes, I did wonder how safe he would be. But I'm hoping that if he lives in Central Park, he'll somehow avoid the more dangerous of the animals that could harm him.
