Andie @ukandie1 and I took off on a new photo 'walk' (well, ride) when we say half-price tickets available (yay, Hottix) for the architectural foundation's river tour. Lining the river are bridges that rise to allow the taller boats to travel to and from Lake Michigan. This is on the north fork.

A wonderful image Taffy showing such a variety of structures! I remember our Architectural foundation river tour as it was a fascinating view of the city from the boat. So interesting and so many opportunities for some great images. I also remember how cold it was and how we all froze! I am glad your day was warmer! Fav for your great B&w image!
Needless to say this is a fav for me. Those bridges intrigue me both for their intrinsic appeal and the structures themselves. Perfect processing to highlight the different structures. I particularly like the way you've positioned the old-engineered bridge in front of a new-engineered building.
It looks like you had a very productive photography ride. There's a real 3D feel to this photo, it looks as if I the raised bridge is popping out of the screen.
@casablanca For years I kept thinking it was ready to come down, and then I learned it literally is being saved as a sort of living museum. At least, that's what I was told. I'm still not sure that this is the case.
