It started as a documentary photo of a rare beach flower that shows up every June and makes the Bonners Landing beach noteworthy. But, what started as a simply yellow flower, after a bit of 'seeing to' ended up as ... not really sure.
I like the way it ended up, I think one of the things 365 has given me is the fact that photography is so much more than just documentary. It is a creative process.
I'm with @gamelee I would love to see the original flower, especially as it is rare. This is a fascinating play with shadows, almost like a sundial, the shadow is so straight.
@gamelee@casablanca Thanks, as always, for your comments and interest. Here's what they look like when growing (and processed) naturally: https://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2018-06-13
Lee, I may be with you on this one. I like aspects of it, but it's not leading me to rethink my more typical style!
It certainly ended up as something which caught my attention - in a good way. The background is super and I really like the way the flower is fading in and out of the background at the edges.
