Thank you for your enthusiastic response to yesterday's swan. I was lucky to catch several shots as it rose and fluffed feathers and then seemed to change its mind about flying off.
Today, I was surprised to find this bunny and either an older sib or its mom in the garden. They seemed as surprised to see me, but then, they didn't take off for awhile, and instead almost posed for me to take pictures of them from different angles (they moved -- I held very still). I was glad I had the long telephoto already on my camera. I'm sure they would not have waited for me to change lenses!
What a beautiful little face! Are the bunnies eating the new plants you have put into your garden? I bet they appreciate your new menu you are providing! Lol! Fav for this lovely capture!
I could just die for the cuteness of this little face!!! As Pam said, it IS a dilemma when your crops begin to disappear! @pamknowler The squirrels have found the avocado tree, and daily we pick up the thumb-sized fruit that would be next year's crop! (Damn Varmits! ; )
Love his huge ears. We have two feral rabbits wandering in our front garden. Luckily we have managed to rabbit-proof our back garden because they eat all the plants.
@Weezilou Oh NO, Louise! Don't you feed them enough already??? Now, they are taking advantage of you! Not the avocados?!?!? They should at least wait until you are gone...or maybe it is because you were gone, so they are taking out their revenge?!? :)
What a terrific shot of this rabbit Taffy, I've never seen a closeup as good as this one is. I do hope they're not feeding on your garden though. Rabbits are a declared noxious animal in Australia (not special breeds kept as pets) and untold amounts of money and resources have been devoted to trying to keep them under control. Not native to Oz, brought here by some of the early English settlers!!!
Wonderful photo! He seems to have posed for you. Ours are a bit bolder and one, totally unconcerned, allowed Callum to creep up to within a couple of yards. I had to frighten it away for fear Callum might actually catch it!
@golftragic I wish...but the way ours is set up, I don't have a separate food garden, it's sort of mixed in with the regular plants. So, fencing isn't practical. I figure if I can keep about 60% of what I've planted, I have to be happy. Last year I lost all the lilies and hostas. I'm hoping to keep some of them this year...but not optimistic.
Shots like this always make me want a bunny for a pet- then I think about what it would take to care for it and feed it- well the picture is just fine! Very cute!
