In Formation

Living in the midwest USA makes the sight of pelicans and opportunity to photograph them very special. Several flocks went by us -- usually when I was set up with a wider lens and long exposure! I finally caught a few after switching to my telephoto and waiting as patiently as possible for another flock to come by!

Awesome capture- it's just how I remember seeing similar flocks back when I was at Virginia Beach. I never did get the whole flock, but I was just amazed at how silently they flew and how in sync they were with one another. Great shot!
