Thank you for your wonderful comments, and for the fav's for yesterday's shot of the skyline through the honeycomb. This was taken on the same day also using wide angle lens, but quite close to the honeycomb elements, at f2.8
.
@maggiemae I went back to the file to check on focal length -- it was my WA after all! That means I'd walked almost up to one of the sections (from the inside) to take the shot. I realized I'd left the WA on until we got to the zoo and changed it there (that's when I learned the superzoom wouldn't work with the lens adaptor for the Z7). Thanks for asking -- have changed the description.
@vignouse Thanks! Laughing to myself as I also had imagined and processed it for b&w. But in the end, decided the color version was more interesting...so glad to have your comment to that effect.
This I like !! a beautiful abstract with great colour tones I love the coppery tones in contrast to the blue/grey tones , reflections and light /shadows - works beautifully - fav
Really an amazing composition - the more you look at it, the more something different catches you. Great lighting, focus, terrific tones - so glad you settled on the color version here.
Oh wow Taffy, this is just plain fabulous. The detail is amazing, tack-sharp and those little star-bursts are the cherry on top of a very rich visual cake. So glad you left this one in colour.
How did you achieve this painting-like quality to it? It's really lovely. I don't know if it is metal or wood but it feels like really smooth tactile wood to me. Makes me dream of being a bee and filling up that lovely shape with fresh sweet honey........ but then you know I am slightly crazy!
This is amazing! I love the tonality and textures. How did you get those highlights with the starbursts? I associate that with a stopped down aperture... And how do you like the Z7?
@casablanca I wish I knew how I did this -- I know I was working among Color Efex and Lightroom, but am not sure anymore in what order. Thanks for asking!
@taffy That made me smile a big smile and feel very normal :) Whatever you did, it worked very well! Let's hope you stumble across it again sometime when you need it, eh?
The abstract challenge is up and running again :) if you're inclined to add the tag abstract-13)
I wish I could tag for abstract -- but I took it on the 29th, though didn't process it til Nov 3rd...
