A cold gray day, and my new camera did not arrive (delayed til tomorrow) so photography focus was on older images. I found several from Chicago Open House that I had never posted. This is the US Post Office -- a massive structure undergoing a renovation after almost 2 decades of housing rodents, birds, etc. The lobby has been completed and it's quite impressive. Beautiful image Taffy! The Chicago Open House gives you so many fabulous opportunities for photos. What a wonderful renovation they have done on the Post Office.
Really beautiful. We have some grand old post offices in Texas that so far have escaped the wrecking ball. Since they have changed their operations to centralized hubs, some of the wonderful old ones are being used for other businesses now.
Spectacular black and white right down to the polish on the floor and the "Hmmmm should I stay in this picture?" person at the end of the room. I love the view through the window too.
