One more (at least) image from the California trip. I'm so appreciative of your positive comments on my two animal shots. The flora was every bit as interesting there, and the light cooperated for Junko and me.
I'm off to visit my mom for a few days, and not taking my camera. I'll either continue to draw on the California trip or use my iPod or take a short break from photography...
Update on Z7 for those interested...today, I noticed the battery cover has fallen off somewhere...no idea when that happened as I haven't changed the battery since the Living Desert. Not impressed with the Nikon quality at this point with the problems with the sensor on now the battery door. Feels like they could have put a bit more into the design. I still like the images it takes, the feel in my hand, and think it will eventually be a great camera.
That is a lot of fun. Loving the backlit spikes. Hope you have a good trip to see your mum.

So sorry to hear about the problems with z7, it's really not good enough for such an expensive camera. No serious issues with the z6 yet.

It is a really intriguing shot. So much detail despite the dark. The backlighting is spectacular. I'm sorry to read of your troubles with this camera - enjoy your mini photography break.
@inthecloud5@caterina I’m going to decide this weekend whether to return and get Z6 instead. Would handle the same and maybe they’ve fixed some things. Christine has liked hers.
Beautiful back lighting. So very sorry about your continued frustration regarding the new camera. Sometimes, it is a good thing to just put the camera down and step away for a bit. :)
@caterina only had the the Z6 for a couple of weeks but it's a delight to carry around with the kit lens 24-70, so much lighter than my other camera. Have yet to test it properly with my other Nikon lenses but no complaints so far.
